It’s proven that people love absolutely nothing more than getting totally fucked up on all kinds of substances and falling/dancing/yielding in wide-eyed bewilderment, through traversable spectacles of musical epiphanies, enlightenment and really, really cool sounds - I’m pretty sure it’s been that way since Mozart blazed his first fatty and wrote a concerto. Like your arse cheeks on a toilet seat, music and drugs go hand in hand. Onoe Caponoe, an artist that transcends rhythmical dimensions, knows that metaphysical boundaries are endless with this scientific equation. So, he’s decided to sign to the UK’s biggest independent Hip Hop label, High Focus Records, collaborate with industry beat master, Chemo and allowed us to skip all the palaver we go through to get to these ‘enlightened’ levels, by releasing an album that looks set to ooze everything we want without lifting a finger.

Onoe Caponoe - Album Preview

Voices From Planet Catelle wants to be your “psychedelic rap experience” and it wants to negotiate genre boundaries whilst doing so. Being possessed by celestial entities, Onoe Caponoe holds the curtain open, enticing us in like a lyrical Opium Baron with a coy smile and a 16-bar. Before you know it, a little some something is slipped onto your tongue and you’re grabbed by the armpits and carried upwards through the sky, bursting intergalactic borders whilst zigzagging between worldly dimensions - all before being tossed into a great Hip Hop cosmos, with Planet Catelle at it’s centre. As an artist, Onoe Caponoe gears up to guide us beyond these nebulas having worked on Voices From The Planet Catelle for over a year. Stepping up like an avant-garde space ranger, he calls the help of another terrestrial being, Jehst, to spit a few guest bars and fend for our ears through the great void. Expect habits of inner-city life to be conducted with the finest of hallucinatory cravings, as the skylines of grey Britain swirl beneath your feet revealing a spectrum of colour as you thrust head first into a bass heavy kaleidoscope.
Launching on January 28th, both physically and digitally, with a limited edition vinyl also available, Voices From The Planet Catelle looks to be Onoe Caponoe’s vessel to enlighten the masses and stab his flag into the crusty moon face of Hip Hop. With the beat making rocket scientist, Chemo, constructing the spaceship behind him there looks no reason that Onoe Caponoe can’t start 2015 off in astronomically graded proportions - taking us along for the ride with him. Bong voyage.
We'll have the full album review very soon so remeber to Follow The Trail and check it out soon!
